BART offers three paid internship pathways, each designed to provide hands-on experience while introducing interns to the people, projects, and careers that keep the Bay Area moving.
ENGINEERING INTERNSHIP — Build the Future
Designed primarily for engineering students approaching their final year of college, this eight-week summer internship provides an opportunity to put classroom knowledge into action while working alongside BART professionals on real-world engineering projects.
SUMMER INTERNSHIP — Explore Your Possibilities
This six-week summer experience is open to participants age 16 and older who are current high school or college students—or who have been enrolled in school within the past 12 months. It’s an opportunity to gain workplace experience, discover career paths, and begin building a professional network.
INNOVATION INTERNSHIP — Bring Ideas to Life
Designed for participants ages 18–25, the Innovation Internship varies by project and provides an opportunity to contribute to projects while gaining practical professional experience in a dynamic work environment.
